NWAEP Lunch & Learn Presents
Deep Green Wilderness Salish Sea Expedition Presentation
Featuring: Captain Kevin Campion

January 18, 2018 at Noon in Seattle

Please join us in Seattle for this lunch and learn presentation hosted by Deep Green Wilderness. Come learn about issues facing the Salish Sea and watch an award-winning short documentary film and Q&A with Captain Kevin Campion. Bring your own lunch and a friend or coworker!

Set sail with the crew of Orion as they voyage to the heart of the Pacific Northwest in The Unknown Sea: A Voyage on the Salish. This short documentary film expedition investigates the historical, political and ecological factors that went into the recognition of our newest inland sea. Join Producer and Director, Captain Kevin Campion in a screening of The Unknown Sea accompanied by a discussion about issues affecting the Salish Sea and information about our newest film project Right Over the Edge: In Search of the North Pacific Right Whale

The Unknown Sea: A Voyage on the Salish won audience choice awards at Ellensburg and Friday Harbor film festivals and was an official selection at Wild and Scenic Film Festival, Tacoma Film Festival, and Local Sightings Film Festival.

About the presenter:
Kevin Campion is a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest and the founder of Deep Green Wilderness, a conservation focused film production and education organization based in Washington State. Kevin produced and directed the award winning short film The Unknown Sea: A Voyage on the Salish, as well as a video highlighting the $1.5 million Salish Sea Forever Campaign for Seadoc Society. Kevin holds his 200 Ton Masters License from the US Coast Guard and is a PADI certified Rescue Diver. After earning his captain’s license and a degree in evolutionary biology Kevin headed out to sea. Since that day he has crossed two oceans and sailed a variety of boats on four of the seven seas. He currently serves as captain and caretaker of Orion, a 64-foot wooden sailboat built in 1934.
