    Role Summary:

    This position is responsible for managing Ecova’s Corporate Accounting team. This position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions. This position is responsible for accumulating and consolidating all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating the year-end audit with external auditors. This position is responsible for providing management with necessary information vital to the decision-making process. This position will report to Ecova’s Corporate Controller.

    Role Description

    • Responsible for overall management of the company’s general ledger. 
    • Provide leadership of the general accounting group regarding day to day operations and deliverables. 
    • Coordinate with the Corporate Tax Manager in order to support preparation of accurate tax filings and overall tax compliance. 
    • Coordinate with the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure general ledger information is available for timely and accurate reporting and financial statement preparation.
    • Ensure that accounting policies and procedures are followed and comply with GAAP.   
    • Plan, organize and coordinate the monthly close process.
    • Review the monthly financial statement and year-end audit report for accuracy.
    • Maintain fixed asset system of all property & equipment.
    • Coordinate the annual and interim financial statement audits with external auditors including preparation of all supporting schedules.
    • Coordinate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to provide support as needed.
    • Provide financial analysis and reports for other areas of company as required
    • Evaluate accounting procedures for continuous improvement and for more efficient, accurate and timely processing and reporting.
    • Responsible for hiring, training and retaining accounting staff
    • Responsible for ensuring that adequate and proper internal controls are established and maintained

    Role Competencies

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Major in Accounting or Finance.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, CPA preferred, public accounting experience required.
    • Minimum 7 -10 years experience in a mid to senior accounting leadership role in a corporation +$100M in revenue.
    • Minimum 4 years leadership of 2 of or more functional accounting teams(i.e. AP, AR, Tax, Internal Audit).
    • Experience establishing and maintaining effective work relationships.
    • Must be organized, detail oriented and able to efficiently function under pressure.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate financial policies and procedures and Company financial issues.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to effectively manage multi-task operations and projects within deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills & leadership skills .
    • Must demonstrate high integrity.
