Environmental Engineer - 765496
Job Description: Responsible for the interpretation of applicable environmental regulations and governmental requirements, and Intel policies. You will need to convey applicable environmental regulatory requirements to management, influence organizations to maintain environmental performance, limit Intel's environmental footprint, and comply with the environmental program (chemical waste, storm water, and wastewater). An in depth understanding of Federal, State of Oregon, city, and county regulatory requirements in chemical waste, storm water, and wastewater is required. Must be able to communicate at all levels in an organization (contractors, technicians, engineers, and managers).
In this position, you will be representing the Intel EHS Organization in the area of environmental engineering. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Waste Water Reporting
Waste Water Applications
Storm Water Permitting
You will need to prepare and submit required environmental reports/plans and maintain all the environmental permit applications/modifications (e.g., 1200Z, 1200C Permits, Service Provider Letter Requirements, Toxic Release Inventory Report, Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permits, Storm Water Permits.)
You will represent your region in cross-site teams (Waste Water Working Group, Chemical Waste Working Group, and AMR Ops EHS Team) to increase environmental awareness, share learning, increase innovation, and drive synergy throughout Intel.
You will act as the liaison and advisor for Construction Projects so that environmental program interests are comprehended to ensure regulatory compliance is met.
You will be required to complete compliance self-assessments to gauge the health of the environmental programs and identify areas needed for improvement to ensure regulatory compliance is met.
You will need to provide direction to Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and employees during emergencies where the environmental program may be impacted.
You will be the liaison to regulatory agencies for site specific sustaining environmental program support; e.g., Clean Water Services, Environmental Protection Agency, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Office of the State Fire Marshal, City of Hillsboro, Department of State Lands, Army Corps of Engineers.
The successful candidate should have the following skills with a minimum of three years relevant experience preferably mostly in the environmental field, EHS and in a manufacturing environment.
You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Certified Professional Wetland Scientist is a plus.
Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Have demonstrated strong influencing skills.
Have shown ability to thrive in a team environment.
Good program management and project leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
Expertise with Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
