    Description

    The Southwest Clean Air Agency is an organization committed to protecting public health through our mission to preserve and enhance air quality in southwest Washington.  We are responsible for implementing and enforcing air pollution laws including the state and federal Clean Air Act, and for providing public education and outreach in five counties. This job provides an opportunity to improve the health and livability of local communities by ensuring our air is clean. Our office is located in Vancouver, Washington.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The successful applicant will be responsible for industrial source compliance inspections, inspection reports, complaint response, enforcement, air monitoring equipment operation, outdoor burning permitting assistance, emission inventory, public education and outreach, and other air quality related projects.

    Qualifications

    A Bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license is required for this position.  Preference will be given to a degree in science or engineering but other relevant courses of study will be considered. One or more years of experience in the air quality field is also preferred. We are seeking a person who has excellent communication skills along with technical skills and is committed to the agency’s mission.  

    Working Conditions

    A four-day work schedule; working hours will typically be 7:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday. Applicants must be willing and able to work in an office environment and outdoors in a variety of industrial, commercial, residential, and rural settings, drive long distances and work occasional odd hours.

    Salary

    The salary range for this position is $3,678 to $5,462 per month based on qualifications and experience.
