    The City of Tacoma is now accepting applications for an Environmental Specialist – Pollution Control Specialist position, closing 5pm on September 2, 2016.

    This is a technical professional position that will be responsible for environmental projects and programs in support of the effective operation of our storm and sanitary sewer systems, and by managing pollution prevention projects city-wide.   The incumbent in this position will be expected to work to position the City to be in compliance with wastewater and storm water NPDES permit requirements, demonstrating that we are good stewards to the environment and of the public resources entrusted to us.

    The Pollution Control specialist will perform responsible administrative and technical environmental work to plan, coordinate, implement, and improve an environmental project or program in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The Pollution Control Specialist may coordinate environmental permits, projects, programs with and/or assist other agencies, departments, and businesses and may provide work direction and guidance to other employees or contractors.
