NAEP has announced that it will offer an Advanced National Environmental Policy Act Workshop virtually via Zoom. The workshop is repeated four times, once in each of four time zones; content is the same for all dates. Those who register should plan to attend the workshop that best accommodates their schedule.

Advanced NEPA Workshops are intended to provide participants with practical tips and tools about how to refine preparation and review of environmental documents prepared pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). These workshops introduce environmental professionals to the July 16, 2020 Council on Environmental Quality Final Rule: “Update to the Regulations Implementing the Procedural Provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act," and best practices for NEPA compliance during the transition to the new Final Rule.

This eight-hour intensive workshop has been organized into six topics:
    Topic 1: Summary of the Final Rule: Update to the Regulations Implementing the Procedural Provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act – Michael Drummond, WSP USA
    Topic 2: NEPA Triggers/One Federal Decision, Pam Hudson, U.S. Navy
    Topic 3: Scoping under the Final Rule, Michelle Rau, Jacobs Engineering
    Topic 4: Effects Determination under the Final Rule, Michael Smith, WSP USA
    Topic 5: Alternatives Analysis under the Final Rule, Chuck Nicholson, HDR Inc.
    Topic 6: Federal Decision-making, Fred Wagner, Venable LLP
