In Part 2 of the Public Water System Series, on Thursday, December 10, 2020, Alcosan will present Household Waste and Wastewater Treatment.
Household wastes come in various forms. Those wastes that make their way into the public sewer system can impact water quality and create other issues from the time the waste enters the sewer system to well beyond the time the waste passes through the wastewater treatment plant. This session will provide an overview of household waste disposal, the journey the waste takes to the treatment plant, the wastewater treatment process and other impacts to water quality in our region.
