Kellogg Creek Bioblitz

Saturday, May 16th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

The North Clackamas Watersheds Council’s  Kellogg Creek Bioblitz on Saturday, May 16th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, provides a great opportunity for us to get active and get outdoors.  NWAEP Board Member, Carol Snead, will be at the bioblitz and hopes you will join (she signed up for birding, but there are many great options to choose from).  If you register  at the website below for this event, please also register here so Carol (carol.snead@odot.oregon.govwill know to look for you. Maybe group lunch at the Milwaukie cart pod afterwards? Anything could happen!

From the website https://ncwatersheds.org/programs/kellogg-creek-bioblitz/:

The third annual Kellogg Creek BioBlitz will be held on May 16th, 2026! Help us to document the plants, birds, insects, and other wildlife that are currently present in and around the soon-to-be restored Kellogg Creek! Last year, 75 volunteers documented over 171 different species of plants, birds, fungi, fish and more in the natural areas surrounding the Kellogg Impoundment during our 2 hour surveys and we can’t wait to see what we find this year! Keep reading to learn more about the BioBlitz and how to register!

During the Kellogg Creek BioBlitz, volunteers will join a group with a specific focus (like birds, plants or insects) that will be led by a local expert who can help with identification and share their vast knowledge and passion on the subject! We have a lot of exciting group options this year that you can read about on our registration page. Survey groups will document their findings using the free iNaturalist app during the two hour survey and then reconvene to share their findings with the group and enjoy a celebratory lunch provided by the Watersheds Council!

The Bioblitz is open to everyone! You don’t need to be an expert naturalist or have experience with iNaturalist to participate – we have local experts that will lead your group to help with identification and data submission.
