    Environmental Data Validation Chemist/Scientist

    EcoChem, Inc. is a specialized Seattle-based environmental consulting firm (not a laboratory) seeking a talented chemist/scientist for a data validation and chemistry consulting position. The following responsibilities are associated with this position:

    • Perform validation of organic and inorganic data analyzed by EPA methods.
    • Evaluate and document data quality using EPA National Functional Guidelines, method criteria, and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs).
    • Write technical assessments of data quality and usability.
    • Use Access database for data review and documentation of findings.

    The position requires attention to detail and a desire to perform within a small team setting.

    The following qualifications are ESSENTIAL:

    • BS degree in chemistry or related science
    • Experience using USEPA and other environmental analytical methodologies
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access and database queries

    The following qualifications are DESIRABLE:

    • Knowledge of data review guidelines
    • Working knowledge of organic laboratory analysis of environmental samples, primarily GC-MS, HPLC-MS/MS, HRMS
    • Experience with data review, QA/QC evaluation, and EPA data reporting requirements
