About UsThe Northwest Association of Environmental Professionals (NWAEP) was founded in 1992 and became an official affiliated chapter of the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) in 2005. Membership in the NAEP is not required to be a NWAEP member. We are a nonpolitical interdisciplinary organization made up of professionals in Washington and Oregon. Our members include a wide range of environmental professions: environmental management, planning, impact assessment, environmental protection, compliance, research, engineering, design, and education. NWAEP membership is open to anyone in the Northwest who is involved or interested in the environmental professions and who conducts their work in accordance with the Environmental Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. By definition, an "environmental professional" is someone who either earns their livelihood from, or has a specific skill or experience in, one or more environmental areas. Included in this broad category are environmental managers, engineers, consultants, educators, regulators, attorneys, vendors and suppliers, technicians, activists, and students, among others.NWAEP for All | NWAEP is OURS Our Goal |
NWAEP Leadership
The NWAEP Board of Directors organizes speakers, meetings, webinars, and events; as well as represents our Chapter at national NAEP meetings. Board members are elected by NWAEP membership. Board positions are held for two years and elections are held annually in May/June.
One of our goals is to maintain board members from throughout the northwest in order to represent NWAEP members from locations throughout Oregon and Washington. We need members and board members in both Seattle and Portland to help run our organization. Consider being an active participant in the NWAEP by volunteering to serve on the NWAEP Board of Directors!
