In this Environmental Protection Specialist position, you will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist supporting Public Assistance Program grants, typical duties include:
- Scoping, reviewing, coordinating, and documenting federal compliance for the National Environmental Policy Act; Endangered Species Act; National Historic Preservation Act; Executive Orders 11988 (Floodplain Management), 11990 (Wetlands Protection), 12898 (Environmental Justice); and related laws on a diverse variety of grant projects;
- Providing technical assistance related to these laws to grant program managers and project stakeholders;
- Conducting environmental impact analyses;
- Corresponding with environmental resource/regulatory agencies regarding project compliance.
- Deploying an average of 217 days per year and supporting active disaster recovery operations at least 90% of the year
- Deployments will be focused in FEMA R10 states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington; but may also be in support of other Regions' disaster recovery operations
